ASM: After disk comes online resync takes excessive amount of time

Oracle EBS R12.2.5 has been released!

From Steven Chan's blog comes news about the release of EBS 12.2.5 which is a cumulative release update pack so can be applied to any R12.2 release without needing to go to any other releases.  There are multiple resources for you available on this article, but just as important are some questions asked and answered as well so make sure you click on the comments link!

Weekend Learning: Problem with granting privileges due to EBS R12.2 Edition Based-Redefinition

Even though the MOS article "Granting Privileges On An Object May Cause Invalidations" from note ID 1987947.1 sounds innocent enough, if you read the details it appears there is a potentially critical issue if you need to immediately change privileges on the current running version of code in R12.2!

ALERT: DB corruption after 12c upgrade for compressed tables during recovery

Did you compress tables on 11g before going to 12c?  If so, you need to check out My Oracle Support article "ALERT Bug 21682261 Corruption during Recovery after upgrading to 12c for Compressed Tables" from document ID 2058461.1 because you can run into corrupted tables if you need to recover them!  This is the worst possible news for a database because it violates all of the ACID principles and if you get to the recovery stage you already have your data in question!
